about the artist

Amy Robinson - Photographer

Amy Robinson is a New England native who received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Lesley College and Boston University. She taught elementary school for twenty six years and is presently a literacy volunteer, teaching English to immigrant adults.

Now, during her retirement years, she has more time to pursue her lifelong interest in photography, which began when she received her first Brownie camera at the age of twelve. She loves to travel and always takes many photographs when she goes on trips.

Her interest in taking pictures of barns began about twenty five years ago when she took a photo of a nearby barn during a winter storm. It was almost twenty years later before she took her next barn photo; and, since then, her interest has continued to grow. The scene that renewed her enthusiasm was that of a Vermont barn with round hay bales in front. She loved the contrast of shapes and the resulting composition. She looks forward to many more years of pursuing her hobby.
